Non-stop spells of rain on National Highway ‘8’ has caused waterlogging and has left commuters stuck for hours in a traffic jam in Gurgaon on Friday morning. Gurgaon police expects the traffic to be cleared by 12 pm but the continuous rains are causing even more problems. Buses, cars, bikes and other vehicles have been stuck for hours and the worst traffic being on the Delhi-Jaipur stretch. At the Hero Honda chowk on NH8 has been blocked and the police has advised to avoid it if possible. The Hero Honda Chowk has been blocked and submerged because the Badshahpur drain has been flooded, and Najafgarh drain gates have been closed by the Delhi government. This nightmare situation is a result of heavy evening rainfall on Thursday left people stranded in their vehicles, while some of them didn’t have enough fuel and water as well.

Since the traffic is not getting cleared, commuters from Delhi coming towards Gurgaon are facing a lot of problems due to the flooding and are hence advised to stay back because traffic along the way from Delhi to Rajiv Chowk is moving extremely slowly. Traffic on Sohna Road is also very congested. There is around 4 feet of water at Subhash Chowk. Roads to Jaipur is also blocked due to flooding in the roads from Pataudi to Rewari and Jhajjar to Rewari. Police officers in teams led by DCPs are trying to move the stuck vehicles by noon.
