Gaya road rage case: After around 14 months of the shocking road rage case in Bihar, suspended Janata Dal (United) (JDU) leader Manorama Devi’s son Rocky Yadav was pronounced guilty by the District Court. Rakesh Ranjan Yadav, also known as Rocky, was the main accused in the killing of a class 12 student – Aditya Sachdeva – in the road rage case in Gaya on May 7, 2016. The Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ), Sachchidanand Singh was scheduled to deliver the judgement on Thursday. Rocky along with three others was pronounced guilty, while the quantum of sentence is scheduled to come on September 6, according to news agency ANI.

Soon after the incident, the case took several twists and turns, started when police arrested Rocky from his father Bindi Yadav’s mixer plant in Gaya on May 10 last year. However, on following October 19, he was granted bail by the Patna High Court. It was, however, stayed by the Supreme Court, as per PTI. It was followed by surrender of Rocky in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ)-(IX) Suresh Prasad Mishra who sent him to jail. On March 6, the apex court denied to vacate its order cancelling the bail of Rocky Yadav in the case. Rocky’s parents, who were accused of sheltering him while he was on the run after the murder, were recently granted bail, said the report.

Meanwhile, ahead of the judgment on Thursday, parents of Aditya Sachdeva had pinned their hopes on the law. “We hope that the law does justice with us and with our son,” the parents told ANI.
