National Green Tribunal on Wednesday slammed UP Jal Nigam by calling it a ‘useless agency’ for failure to implement desired results. The tribunal raised question on Nigam’s ability to implement Rs 20,000 crore issued by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government. “PM spending around Rs 20000 crore to clean Ganga, but how useless creatures(UP Jal Nigam)&other agencies will effectively plan & implement?,” said the Nigam. Slamming the Nigam, the quasi-judicial body called it “one of the best examples of uselessness”, which has done nothing since its inception in 1975.
