Indian Air Force (IAF) is celebrating its foundation day, also known as the Indian Air Force Day, today (October 8). This year marks the 85th anniversary of IAF. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to wish the Indian Air Force on the occasion. “On Air Force Day, best wishes to our courageous air warriors & their families. Their determination & prowess ensure that our skies are safe,” he tweeted. President Ram Nath Kovind also appreciated the brave soldiers of Indian Air Force through his Tweet. He wrote, “On Air Force Day, I salute the valour, commitment & dedication of our brave air warriors. They safeguard our skies.” General Bipin Rawat and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also congratulated the Indian Air Force through their tweets. Not only our ministers but our cricketing heroes also saluted the Indian Air Force.

Sachin Tendulkar, who was conferred with the Indian Air Force’s honorary rank of Group Captain to honour his achievements in sports also took to Twitter and posted a video message for the airmen. He can be seen sporting the Indian Air Force uniform in the video. Along with Sachin Tendulkar, other cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan also hailed Indian Air Force through their Tweets.
