Tempting offer of 100% cashback by digital payments platform FreeCharge weekend offer kicked up huge excitement and it managed to lure 4 times the normal traffic. On day 1 itself, FreeCharge’s offer of flat 100% cashback sale, received enormous consumer interest. People flocked to grab tempting cashback offers on a range of online and offline schemes across more than 1,00,000 merchant stores. As huge as 5 times jump was recorded in offline transactions as well. On merchants like Cafe Coffee Day, Heritage Fresh, McDonald’s, Hypercity, Crossword, buyers enjoyed the surprise weekend deals. Buyers were also locked into tempting online deals on Domino’s, Snapdeal, Bookmyshow, Jabong, gaana.com, etc.

Consumers across the country use Freecharge to make prepaid, post-paid, DTH and Electricity bill payments, along with other utility services in addition to online and offline merchants. And so the buyers were driven by exciting offers on recharges, which included a cashback offer on recharge. A significant increased in consumer interest was also seen as it was translated into a sharp increase in transactions in the food & dining vertical across prominent merchants.
