The Oil Ministry on Monday warned citizens to be careful about fake websites on the free-LPG scheme, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The oil ministry said that the citizens of the country should be careful about fake websites and not respond to any advertisements made for dealers, issued by such portals, according to PTI. The oil ministry released an official statement saying, “Attention of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has been drawn to a number of fake websites which have come up recently in connection with the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. “It is to bring to the kind notice of general public that official website of PMJY is www.pmujjwalayojana.com”
According to PTI, the official website of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana contained downloadable forms free of any charge. These forms could be found by interested consumers in both English and Hindi and could be filled by any prospective beneficiaries for the new free LPG connections. The official statement issued by the oil ministry also stated that it had been noticed an entity/website by the domain name of www. ujwalayojna.org had been found to be issuing advertisements about the LPG appointment of distributorship under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
The statement also informed that it had been clarified that the said entity was not authorised by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for the appointment of the distributorship of LPG. “It is requested that general public should not respond to the advertisement or any other communication from this entity in any manner,” it added.
