Times of India building in central Delhi's Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg caught fir on Sunday.
A fire broke out on the first floor of the Times of India building in central Delhi’s ITO Sunday evening. No casualty was reported in the incident. Fire Services director, GC Mishra told sources that 20 fire tenders were pressed into service. While, the cause for fire is yet to be ascertained, it is possible that the fire broke out in some other floor and the smoke is coming out of the first floor, said Mishra. He said, a lot of smoke was coming out of the building’s first floor. The fire broke out in the server room of the systems department on the first floor.
The call was received at around 4.45 pm, said a fire official. Last year in May another fire case was reported in the TOI office, where five tenders were sent on spot. A case under Section 436 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy house, etc) of the IPC has been registered.
