Infosys Ltd Chief Financial Officer M D Ranganath may be inducted on the company board, ET Now reported citing unidentified sources, amid high drama over the tussle between the promoters, the management and the board about corporate governance concerns.M D Ranganath’s proposed elevation to the boardroom is understood to have approval from the promoter group, ET Now reported. Infosys founders N R Narayana Murthy, Kris Gopalakrishnan and Nandan Nilekani wrote to the board last month expressing their concerns over corporate governance with the board, including the quantum of salary hike given to the CEO Vishal Sikka and the size of the severance packages given to two former executives.

GoAir plane flying over Najafgarh caught fire, forced to make emergency landing

A GoAir plane flying over Delhi’s Najafgarh area had reportedly caught fire on Wednesday after which it was forced to make an emergency landing. The information was passed on to PCR through a call after which it was confirmed that the engine of the plane had caught the fire and the emergency landing was made. In 2015, a GoAir flight, G8-305 carrying 168 passengers from Mumbai was hit by an aerobridge after landing at the Chennai airport. This incident took place at 6:35 am in the morning as the AAI operator was unable to safely align the aerobridge to the aircraft. According to the indianexpress.com, the mistake happened because the operator was too fast and was unable to control he movement of aerobridge.

Uphaar fire tragedy: Supreme Court orders Gopal Ansal to serve 1-yr jail term, Sushil goes free; Neelam Krishnamoorthy says should have ‘shot these people’

In the latest developments on the Uphaar cinema matter, Supreme Court has ordered Gopal Ansal to serve one year sentence. However, he has already served four months of the punishment while his brother Sushil Ansal had already undergone his jail sentence. Supreme court also declined the review petitions of Association of the Victims of Uphaar Tragedy (AVUT) and CBI which didn’t go well with Neelam Krishnamoorthy who lost her two young children in the unfortunate incident in a fire at Uphaar, Delhi cinema. She was extremely disappointed with court’s decision and said that coming to court was her biggest mistake.
