Earthquake in Delhi: India’s capital city and the surrounding areas was rocked by a quake today on Saturday night

The earthquake in India measured 4.6 on the Richter scale hit the India-Pakistan border region in Punjab at 5:24 PM. While the quake was not really big, it still managed to shake Delhi.

Earthquake in Delhi: India’s capital city and the surrounding areas was rocked by a quake today on Saturday night. According to reports, strong tremors were felt in Gurgaon, Noida and adjoining areas of Delhi for nearly two seconds. As per IMD 4.1 magnitude earthquake hit Haryana. While the temblor was not of any high intensity, it caused some people to come out into the open. However, most people did not even know when it happened. At the moment there are no reports of any injuries or damage stemming from this cause.

Across North India, there are also no reports of the earthquake causing any panic or otherwise disrupting normal life.

4.1-magnitude earthquake hits Haryana, tremors felt in Delhi-NCR: IMD

Last month, a quake has hit the national capital region after months of hiatus. The period before that was marked by a much greater frequency and some experts in fact had cautioned about the great possibility of a ‘big one’ being imminent.

An earthquake measuring 5.7 hit Tanzania today and was felt in nearby Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and Kenya, the US Geological Survey said, as reports came in of collapsed homes. The epicentre of the 1227 GMT quake was about 25 kilometres east of the north western town of Nsunga on the border of Lake Victoria.
