Earthquake in Assam: A mild quake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale today shook the Cachar region of Assam. The earthquake struck at 6:44 AM at the depth of 10 km, according to National Centre for Seismology.
There were no reports of loss of lives or property.
The Northeast is one of the high seismic zones.
Last week a powerful earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale hit Myanmar, tremors of which shook the northeast, several parts of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and even Delhi and NCR.
