After Tamil Nadu cartaker Chief Minister O Panneerselvam staged a major revolt against AIADMK general secretary V.K. Sasikala Natarajan yesterday, the caretaker CM said on Wednesday that after assuming the position, he experienced a lot of pain and was targeted and humiliated by the party. He added that he has continued to occupy his post as the Union government had asked him to do so after his resignation. Panneerselvam lashed out at the party people and said, “To be a TN CM is a huge task but at each and every step, humiliation was carried out by the insiders who were close to me.”

As the political turmoil gets murkier in the state day by day, Panneerselvam said he would prove his majority in the assembly session. He cleared his opinion that he will continue to discharge his duties in accordance with the wishes of people of Tamil Nadu. Panneerselvam is assertive that he holds a majority in the State Assembly and that all AIADMK MLAs stand with him.
O Panneerselvam after raising a flag of revolt against Sasikala, addressed a press conference today and said, “I will prove my strength in the assembly.” AIADMK party’s strength in the state Assembly is 134 seats and DMK holds 89 seats, while Panneerselvam claims the support of 65 MLAs.
He got sacked by Sasikala as AIADMK treasurer following his attack on CM-designate Sasikala on Tuesday. Panneerselvam claimed that he was forced to resign as Tamil Nadu CM at Sasikala’s behest. However, Sasikala refuted all allegations and said that she had not forced him to quit and what he was saying was absolutely incorrect.
