“Mamata Banerjee sharing stage with CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, who was Trinamool’s number one enemy and the Congress leadership, is nothing but a desperation on part of Banerjee to save her fast depleting political space in Bengal,” BJP national secretary Siddarth Nath Singh said.
Singh said, no vested political alliance can stop the BJP from making Bengal free from the Trinamool Congress’s “misrule” by 2016.
“As the idea of making India Congress-free by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been fulfilled, the idea of making Bengal Trinamool-free will also be fulfilled.
“All these political parties coming together under the garb of 125th birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, is nothing but a desperate attempt to save their own political space and identity,” Singh said.
“In a larger canvas, she is witnessing the state secretariat having a CM from BJP after 2016,” he said.
Singh asked Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to speak out their stand on the riots taking place in Uttar
Pradesh under SP-rule and terrorists making Bengal a safe haven under the Trinamool Congress rule.
“They are talking about the legacy of Jawaharlal Nehru. What do they have to say about the communal riots under the SP regime in Uttar Pradesh and terrorists making Bengal a safe haven under the TMC? It is for Rahul and Sonia Gandhi to answer,” Singh said.
Mamata Banerjee from Trinamool Congress, Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury from CPI-M, former Prime Minister and JD(S) chief H D Deve Gowda, JD(U) president Sharad Yadav, CPI’s D Raja, NCP general secretary D P Tripathi and others attended the conference organised by Congress on Nehru’s 125th birth anniversary.
BJP state president Rahul Sinha too criticised Banerjee for sharing the dais with Left and Congress leaders.
“I had told two months back that the TMC will beg before CPI(M) and Congress to forge an alliance to save their own political identity. But it’s too late, the people of Bengal have decided and they are with us,” Sinha said.
Accusing Trinamool Congress of going to any extent to stick to power, he said, “This party can go to any extent to stick to the chair of power. The people of Birbhum and Parui will fight against the goons of TMC and protect their honour and livelihood.”
