Dera Sacha Sauda Sanitisation: Security forces today started ‘sanitisation’ process of the sprawling headquarters of Ram Rahim Singh-led sect in Sirsa. It has been learnt that 41 Paramilitary companies, 4 Army columns, Police of 4 districts, one SWAT team, one dog squad and bomb squad deployed for the search operation, ANI reported. According to reports, Curfew has been imposed in areas surrounding of the headquartes and there will be no relaxation till search operations continue. JCB machine has entered and authorities have also called 10 blacksmiths inside the headquarters. Meanwhile, Dera Spokesperson Vipassana Insan has appealed followers to maintain peace and said Dera has always followed law.
The entire sanitisation process is being videographed and overseen by retired District and Sessions Judge, A K S Pawar, who was appointed as court commissioner by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday. Pawar arrived in Sirsa yesterday and met top officials to take stock of things before the process is undertaken. The premises of the Dera, whose chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was jailed in rape case, is spread over 800 acres and houses educational institutions, markets, hospital, stadium, recreational areas and houses.

Haryana DGP B S Sandhu also said that the sanitisation process will be out of bounds for the media. “We have formed a strategy and are hopeful that the sanitisation process will be conducted in a smooth manner. The Dera management too has expressed willingness to cooperate with the local administration and police during the investigation,” he said.
