West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday compared the Modi government to that of Hitler’s Germany and said that the government couldn’t bring back the black money from the Swiss Bank was creating inconvenience for those with legal white money. Mamata spoke about the common man’s woes and said that the government’s decision of demonetisation was not allowing the taxpayers to withdraw money from their own accounts.
She compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule to that of the infamous Sultan Mohammad-Bin-Tughlaq, first known Indian to have introduced currency on face value. She said that the entire business was worse than that of Hitler’s regime. Mamata Banerjee had earlier held protests against the demonetisation scheme of the government in Delhi with CM Arvind Kejriwal and other members of the opposition.
Meanwhile, both houses of the parliament remain disrupted owing to the absence of the Prime Minister and the opposition’s demand that he be present for a discussion. It was reported that there was news of the Prime Minister showing up at Rajya Sabha for a debate but his absence only made the matter so much worse. However, former PM Manmohan Singh spoke for the first time on the demonetisation scheme and called it a case of organised loot and legalised plunder.
