Soon after the Day2 of Winter Session of the Parliament today, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee along with her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal has recently addressed a huge rally at the Azadpur Mandi in New Delhi seeking immediate withdrawal of the demonetisation drive. During the rally, both the CMs left no stones unturned criticising Narendra Modi and the BJP and their decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currencies. During the rally Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that there is an economic emergency going on in the country and have also questioned the ruling government if this is what they termed as ‘achhe din’.
“My heart goes out to the poor people of the country and our MPs have moved notices against the government,” said the Bengal CM at the rally. She also alleged Narendra Modi of breaking constitutional law by injecting the demonetisation drive in the country.
Extending her anger and distress towards the demonetisation, Banerjee has also demanded a rollback of note ban within 3 days from now. She said she is all hands with the BJP in fighting towards corruption, but will not tolerate if common people of the country suffers.
The TMC leader also questioned on why the government is making new announcements everyday? Ending her speech, she warned the BJP government and said we will not let you sell the country. We fear people but we aren’t scared of this government, she added.
After Mamta Banerjee’s firing speech came the Aam Aadmi Party convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal who started his speech by questioning the logic behind the banning Rs 1,000 notes and then introducing Rs 2,000 notes. He demanded an explanation on to how will this step curb corruption? Kejriwal, will immense anger on his face, kept on cornering the government and also spoke about various drawback and ill effects of demonetisation.
“The Government is shielding corrupts in the garb of nationalism, but we will never let this happen,” said Kejriwal. Further he blamed the demonetisation to the biggest scam of free India which is worth 8 lakh crore. During his speech, Kejriwal also spoke about Vijay Mallya and his link-ups with the BJP. He also accused the Prime Minister of letting Mallya flee away from the country. Heating up the attack, Delhi CM came up with some documents (unverified) which he touted to have scored from his source in the Income Tax department. He read the document during his speech at the rally which hinted towards PM Modi taking bribe during his tenure as Gujarat CM. As per Kejriwal, the document said “Gujarat CM – 25 Crore; 12 Crore given… Rest ??”
Kejriwal also questioned on the high profile marriage ceremony of ex-BJP member Janardhan Reddy’s daughter. The marriage is stated to cost a massive 500 crore so, who gave him the new Rs 2,000 currencies worth 500 crore, he asked. Ending his speech Kejriwal warned the government not to fool the common man by saying that standing in bank queue is nationalism.
