We all know that Sabarimala temple has been in the news for all the wrong reasons – legal battles, right to pray campaign versus right to wait campaign and so on. Yesterday, Sabarimala temple witnessed something rare and yes, believe it or not, it is connected with demonetisation!
Are you wondering what the connection between Demonetisation and Sabarimala temple is? Here you go:
Ayappa devotees witnessed a rare sight when Kummanam Rajasekharan, Kerala State President, BJP was seen at the sanctum sanctorum offering big baskets filled to the brim with heaps of flowers to the priest – Melsanthi Unnikrishnan Namboodiri who quickly collected it and disappeared inside the sanctum sanctorum. The floral offering was made by Kummanam Rajasekharan in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name.
Even as chants of “Swamiye Sharanam Ayappa” resonated all around, Kummanam Rajasekharan was seen praying to the deity. The sanctum sanctorum of the Sabarimala temple is revered for its sheer splendor as being the final gateway revealing the much-awaited ‘darshan’ of its presiding deity – Lord Ayappa.
Kummanam Rajasekharan also made the same Pushpabhishekam offering to Malikappuram Devi, in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name.
Later when the floral offerings were completed, Kummanam Rajasekharan told reporters, “This is a ‘pushpa abhishekam’ we have offered in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to invoke the blessings of Lord Ayappa. Demonetisation is a historic decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and we are certain it will bring the desired results – of eradicating black money and curbing counterfeit currency. ”
Kummanam Rajasekharan, Kerala BJP State President, also added, “Lord Ayappa’s blessings are always there with the Prime Minister. This offering of Pushpa abhishekam is for PM’s continued well-being and success.”
