In an hard hitting attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of demonetisation, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray today asked whether 40 people who died standing queues in banks and ATMs had any black money. He also said that even while the prime minister announced the demonetisation to bring out black money, his party leader Janardan Reddy spent 500 crores on daughter’s wedding.

Attacking the PM further he said that even as he gave emotional speech in Goa in the morning, he praised NCP chief Sharad Pawar in the evening. Since November 8, when Prime Minister Narendra announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, long queues are seen in ATMs and banks in in every part of the country. Yesterday, while backing government’s move to ban higher denomination banknotes Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that demonetisation will redefine the Indian new normal.

Speaking during Indian Economic Conclave 2016 he also asserted that despite the global slowdown Indian economy has done well in terms of economic growth. “Indian economy has done well despite the sluggish global growth,” Jaitley said.

Since the beginning of the Winter session of the Parliament, a proper debate among members were seen only on first day in the Rajya Sabha, but in last two not much debates were seen due to repeated adjournments in both Houses. While the Opposition is saying that the even while they support fight against black money, the chaos created by it has to be sorted out, the government has taken some steps time and again to ease burden on the people.
