A Delhi woman on Sunday grabbed her eve teaser by the collar, slapped him and dragged him to a police station. The incident occurred in West Delhi on February 25 when a woman grabbed the harasser who was making obscene comments in a crowded market and took him to the police station. The woman was walking with her friend in Ghaffar Market, Karol Bagh when the incident took place.

A group of four to five men started following the woman and her friend. In order to avoid them, both the ladies reportedly got into a cycle-rickshaw. The group allegedly did not leave them alone and followed the rickshaw while passing cheap remarks to the women. What happened next shocked many. The woman reportedly got down from the rickshaw and started slapping one of the harassers. She then dragged the accused to the police station and lodged an FIR against the person.

Cops have arrested two men in connection with the incident. They have been identified as Abhishek and Manish who belong to Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. Earlier, two months ago, a shocking CCTV footage showed that two women, including a journalist, were molested inside the ITO Metro station. According to the police reports, the accused was drunk. He first passed obscene comments at her and then touched her inappropriately, as per an NDTV report.

As per the data by Delhi Police in 2017, over five rape cases were reported on an average every day in Delhi. However, the number of cases reported reduced from 2064 in 2016 to 2049 last year. According to the data released by Delhi Police, as many as 3273 molestation cases were reported in 2017. However, the cases of eve-teasing declines from 894 in 2016 to 621 in 2017.

The drop in the number of cases could also be because Delhi Police does not register FIR. Even I was molested in east Delhi and complained to the police. But the police made me take back my complaint even though it was a severe case of harras . The police would bring some om person home - acquainting us with some criminals that made us take back the complaint. East Delhi is now famous for chain and mobile snatching wirh no action from Police
