Delhi Metro fare hike revised: Travelling on Delhi Metro will pinch pockets of the public from today. The second phase of fare revisions has been implemented by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as recommended by the Fourth Fare Fixation Committee (FFC). Delhi Metro fares have been increased for the second time in four months. Notably, the first phase of the hike was implemented in May this year. The prices have gone up by between 20 per cent and 50 per cent over the existing fares. The price hike has lead to an increase of Rs. 10 for all travel beyond 5 km. The maximum fare, for journeys beyond 32 km, will now be Rs 60. However, Smartcard users, who happen to be 70 percent of the metro’s total ridership, according to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)’s estimates, will continue to get 10 percent discount on each ride, reported PTI.
