In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old motorcyclist in Delhi died after his neck was slit by a wire that was tied between two barricades placed on the road by police near Netaji Subhash Place. 4 beat constables and division officers have been suspended for the same. Following the incident, SHO Netaji Subhash Place was sent to district lines. The victim has been identified as Abhishek who in the past has worked as a car driver and a part-time disc jockey. According to the police, the incident took place when Abhishek was going home on his motorcycle. On his way, his neck struck the wire used to tie two barricades. While further talking about the cause of death, the official said that this will be ascertained after post-mortem. Sunil, a relative of the victim who died in the freak accident said, "Raaste mein barricades the & usko taar se baandha gaya tha. Jab woh aa raha tha, toh itna andhera tha ki usko woh taar nazar nahi aaya & woh taar usse neck pe laga." (The barricades were on the way and they were tied togather using a wire. When Abhishek was coming it was so dark that he was not able to see the wire and got struck directly to it.) He added, "Kuch time baad yahin pe uski (Abhishek) death ho gayi. Iss jagah pe koi bhi police wala nahi tha, sthaaniya logon ne hi uski madad ki. Yahaan pe PCR honi chahiye thi. Iske aane se 15 minute pehle bhi ek aur aadmi ko gardan pe nishaan laga tha. (He died on the same spot later. There was no police in the area at that time, some local people came forward to help him. The PCR should have been here. Before Abhishek came, another person had hit the wire). Abhishek's mother while reacting to the whole incident said that an enquiry should be ordered and the people responsible for the same should be punished.
