Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal today transferred Principal Secretary (Services) Anindo Majumdar who issued the order posting Shakuntala Gamlin as acting Chief Secretary on the direction of Lt Governor Najeeb Jung.
However, the LG, who is at loggerheads with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over Gamlin’s appointment as Chief Secretary, overturned the decision in the evening saying that Majumdar’s removal does not have his approval and declared it as void.
“Majumdar has been transferred from his post. However, he has been kept awaiting new posting order,” said a senior government official.

Sources said that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was not happy with the way Shakuntala Gamlin was appointed as acting Chief Secretary by the Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and Majumdar “instantly” issued her posting orders.
Sources said that Shakuntala Gamlin has been asked to explain her postings held in the last three years.
In his letter to Arvind Kejriwal on May 9, Power Minister Satyendra Jain had accused Shakuntala Gamlin of of lobbying within the government to promote the “interest of Reliance-owned power companies” and uged him to relieve her of the charge of Principal Secretary (Power).
In a diatribe against Najeeb Jung, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal today asked him to review his “questionable” decision to appoint Shakuntala Gamlin as acting Chief Secretary of Delhi and work within the “confines” of the Constitution.
