Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday rubbished charges of nepotism following the appointment of Swati Maliwal as the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief and said that she is not even remotely connected to him.

Kejriwal also took a jibe at the media houses for publishing baseless and unwarranted stories in this regard

“Some media houses n opp leaders alleging that swati is my cousin. Complete nonsense. She is not even remotely connected,” he tweeted.

Kejriwal has drawn sharp criticism from the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for appointing Maliwal, who is the wife of AAP leader Naveen Jaihind, as the DCW chief.

Maliwal, an RTI activist activist and the youngest member of India against Corruption was working as an advisor (grievances) to Kejriwal before the appointment.
