The family of the Dadri lynching victim, Mohammed Akhlaq has decided to challenge the recent court order in Alllahabad High Court, that had asked for a police case to be filed against the family for alleged cow slaughter. The court orders came more than a week ago after a petition was filed by a neighbour from the village, Bisada. The petition had the backing of the ones accused of murdering Akhlaq. The neighbour claims that on September 26 2016, Akhlaq and his son Danish were striking the calf. Later, a villager saw Akhlaq holding the calf down as his brother butchered it, the petition said.

In Lucknow today, Akhlaq’s son Sartaj, a Corporal in the Indian Air Force, told NDTV about the loopholes in the given forensic report, following which the petition for legal action was filed. This report stated that the meat discovered in the dustbin outside Akhlaq’s home was cow meat.

Sartaj informed the media that in the initial report given by the veterinary collge and later by the Mathura forensic laboratory had revealed different quantities. He expressed his disbelief as he added that the meat was recovered from near a village transformer and was unsealed the whole time. He has maintained his stand about the criminal conspiracy that has been hashed.

Asad Hayat, the appointed family lawyer believes the involvement of hospital and lab authorities and even suspects the police.
