Even as the outrage over the Gurgaon murder case, in which a class II student was murdered at the Ryan International school, is yet to settle and already a similar incident has taken place in Lucknow. In this chilling incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s capital, a class I student was stabbed in his school toilet on Tuesday. The seven-year-old was allegedly stabbed by a senior girl student. He is now at the trauma centre of King George’s Medical University (KGMU). The boy got deep wounds on chest and stomach but is now reportedly out of danger. Meanwhile, the school officials suspect a connection to the deadly “Blue Whale” game, which involves a set of violent tasks that end in suicide. The director of the school said that the footage from around 70 security cameras in the school was being examined. What is more shocking is the reason behind this act.
The boy told the police late on Wednesday that the girl while beating him, said that she was doing so to get the school to close early. The incident took place at the Brightland Inter College school in Triveninagar on Tuesday but was reported only when the KGMU authorities revealed it to the media.
The victim was reportedly stabbed in the chest and abdomen and locked inside the toilet by the girl. The designated discipline head of the school, Amit Singh Chauhan heard his cries and found him in a pool of blood and his mouth stuffed with a cloth. The boy was immediately taken to a private hospital from where he was referred to KGMU.
The hospital authorities told the boy’s parents that he had met with an accident. The police were reportedly informed only when the media reached the hospital.
The district inspector of schools has issued a show-cause notice to the school for not informing the police about the incident in time. The police is also questioning the 12-year-old, class VI girl who was identified by the victim with the help of a photograph.
“A didi with boy-cut hair called me, saying a teacher had asked for me. She took me to the bathroom and slapped me. Then she attacked me with a sharp object,” the boy told police in his statement, according to Times of India. During the second round of questioning in the evening, he told police, “When I asked didi why she was beating me, she said: I want the school to declare an early closure today.”
According to the initial details provided by the police, the girl allegedly took the boy to the toilet and tied him with her dupatta before stabbing. In the Ryan International School murder case, a 16-year-old student was accused of killing seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur. Pradyuman was found with his throat slit in the school’s toilet on 8 September, 2016.
