Chhattisgarh: Security forces gun down 5 naxalites

At least five naxalies were gunned down by security forces in the Chattisgarh district of Narayanpur today. According to Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena, in a successful operation, in Tuspal and Becha Kilam jungles of Abujmarh, the Narayanpur District Reserve Group (DRG) decimated Military Company No 6 of the CPI (Maoists).

During the operation, at lest six naxalites were killed, however only five of their bodies could haveen recovered.
Narayanpur police led by Meena and Kondagaon police led by SP Santosh Singh, jointly conducted the operation, during which, police seized three rifles of 12 bore, one rifle of 315 bore and articles of daily use from the spot.

This month, at least bodies of 15 Maoists have been recovered by the Bastar Police as part of the ongoing ‘Mission 2016 Bastar’. Same day, in Malkangiri more than 100 Maoist supporters surrendered before the police.
