Chandigarh stalking case: Prime accused Vikas Barala, son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Haryana chief Subhash Barala was arrested today after her arrived at the Sector 26, Chandigarh police station.

Chandigarh stalking case: Prime accused Vikas Barala, son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Haryana chief Subhash Barala was arrested today after her arrived at the Sector 26, Chandigarh police station. Vikas came to the police station for an investigation into the alleged stalking case against him filed by a city-based woman. According to a police official, Vikas who was asked to appear at the police station by 11 AM did not turn up, even as his father insisted that “he will soon reach Chandigarh and cooperate in the police investigation”. Vikas arrived at the Police Station later around 2.30 PM.

DGP Chandigarh who was in charge of the Chandigarh stalking case, while addressing the media said, “Detailed interrogation of both (Ashish and Vikas) took place; two charges to be pressed against them.” He added, “Attempt of abduction, two sections 365 and 511. Have decided to arrest both accused, will be produced before the court tomorrow.” While talking about political pressure in the case as it involves the some of Haryana Bharatiya Janata (BJP) chief, the DGP said, “There is no political pressure on us and we are doing everything professionally and objectively.”
