One man from Kuwait and three women who were travelling with him were reportedly sent back to Dubai from the Delhi airport on Monday night. According to a report by Hindustan Times, these people were sent back after the man refused to unveil the faces of the women and created a ruckus at the immigration counter. A source at the airport was quoted saying in the report that the passenger was probably drunk and even refused to fill the immigration form.

“The male passenger was probably drunk as initially he even refused to fill the immigration form. After immigration officials managed to convince him, he refused to take off the burqa of female passengers accompanying him for face identification. When the matter could not be resolved for hours, the immigration officials decided to send them back,” the source was quoted saying in the report. As the situation got a bit tense and the passenger tried to damage the immigration counter, police was called to get things under control.

The incident took place around 9 pm on Monday night when the passenger arrived from Dubai by Emirates flight. When the passenger reached the immigration counter he was asked to fill the form by the on-duty officer. However, he got angry and started abusing the official and the Indian system.

“While the officials were trying to pacify him, another passenger, who had arrived from Bangkok, also requested him to fill the form. Instead of listening to the other passenger, the Kuwaiti national entered into an argument with him. The passenger from Bangkok slapped him,” an official was quoted saying by HT. The police was forced to intervene and the passenger was deported back to Dubai.
