Reacting to the BMC election outcome, Shiv Sena (ES) MP Milind Deora said the poll results effectively drew the curtain on what he called the "soap opera of Mumbai politics". He thanked Mumbai voters for what he described as a mandate for “change, accountability and development”. He said the city’s political landscape had now narrowed to just two decisive figures. "Today, it's clear that there are only two brothers in Mumbai's politics: Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde. Their last name is development...," Deora told reporters.
Responding to opposition claims that the indelible ink used during voting could be erased with acetone, Deora dismissed the allegations as deflection. Pointing to his own ink-marked finger, he said it remained intact despite frequent use of hand sanitiser. “First it was EVMs, then electoral rolls, and now even the ink is being blamed,” he said, adding that such charges only mask deeper issues of inner-party democracy within those parties. “All I can say is that I wish them well,” he added.
