The call came at around 8:30 am in the morning which said that there is a bomb in the Guwahati bound flight that was scheduled to depart at 9:30 am.
“There is a bomb in the plane”, claimed a voice of a woman caller when the Air India check in counter at the Netaji Subhash Chandra (NSC) Bose International Airport received a call from an unknown caller.
Immediately the boarding process for 114 passengers were stopped and the flight was isolated for detection by a bomb squad which was called in immediately. The call came at around 8:30 am in the morning which said that there is a bomb in the Guwahati bound flight that was scheduled to depart at 9:50 am.
Security and bomb squad personnel checked the plane but nothing was found, the officials said.
The plane finally took off at 11.45 PM, delayed by an hour and 55 minutes.The is the second incident of hoax call to the airport this month. Three phone calls had been made threatening to blow up the airport on September 7. Two days later, another unanimous call was made to the state secretariat, ‘Nabanna’, threatening to blow it up.
