Following Navjot Singh Sidhu’s quitting of the BJP, the party’s chief from Punjab and Union Minister Vijay Sampla said that they tolerated the Sidhu couple’s indiscipline for far too long. Sample seemed agitated at Sidhu’s remark that she felt suffocated in the BJP and said that the party respected and accommodated the famous couple for far too long and their hospitality got too stretched in the end. She further said that the part tolerated their indicia for too long which it was not obliged to do. Navjot Kaur spoke against the party multiple times, even when she was a member of it, he added. He expressed his disappointment as said that no other party could show the level of patience s BJP did.
Talking about Navjot Kaur, he said that she had always expressed her opinion freely without any objection from the party. She never ate any words nor was made to do so in any way, he added. Questioning the Sidhu couple’s allegations, he said that if this was suffocation, he didn’t know what freedom was like. When asked about BJP using the mileage from the Indian Army’s surgical strikes for the elections, he said that earlier people used to question about the 56-inch chest of PM Modi. But now ‘we’ have given a befitting reply to terrorism and every Indian is proud of it, he added.
He further said that people like Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were trying to demoralise the army with their comments about the proof of surgical attacks. When asked if BJP is promoting Ramdev and his firm ‘Patanjali’, he said that as long as something was ‘swadeshi’, the BJp would promote it.
