Days after the massive victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the assembly elections, the safron party president Amit Shah on Friday had appointed party spokesperson Anil Baluni as the head of BJP's media department.
Days after the massive victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the assembly elections, the safron party president Amit Shah on Friday had appointed party spokesperson Anil Baluni as the head of BJP’s media department along with Bihar spokesperson Sanjay Mayukh as the sub-head of the cell. Being an active member of the party in Uttarakhand since 1993, Baluni replaces Shrikant Sharma who is presently appointed as the Energy Minister in the newly formed Uttar Pradesh cabinet led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Before being appointed as the national spokesperson of the party, Baluni was known for his assertive approach during controversial situations. He was also the spokesperson of the safron party in Uttarakhand. A native of Pauri Garhwal, Baluni even worked for some time as the deputy chairman of the Uttarakhand state Forest and Environment Committee and is also an authority on flora and fauna of Uttarakhand.
baluni got associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party while he was associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) as a student of the Delhi University. Apart from being a commerce graduate, Baluni also holds a diploma in journalism, during which he got associated with Sangh offices, before Sundar Singh Bhandari, the then prominent Sangh leader spotted him.
After being appointed in the new role, as reported by The Indian Express, Baluni stated, “I will be working to take the party’s ideology to people with the help of media.”
The newly appointed sub-head of the party’s media cell, Sanjay Mayukh is an Member of Legislative Council (MLC) from Bihar and had earlier being a part of the party’s national media wing before he moved to the state.
