BJP president Amit Shah announces new appointments within party

BJP president Amit Shah has today appointed its Lok Sabha member of Parliament from Bhadohi Virendra Singh as the head of the party's Kisan Morcha.

BJP president Amit Shah has today appointed its Lok Sabha member of Parliament from Bhadohi Virendra Singh as the head of the party’s Kisan Morcha. In a series of appointments withing the party, he also appointed party’s Rajya Sabha MP Ramvichar Netam as president of party’s scheduled tribe wings. Amit Shah also appointed Vinod Sonkar as head of party’s Scheduled Caste Morcha, while Poonam Mahajan appointed as the Yuva Morcha head, while another party leader Dara Singh Chauhan has been named as head of OBC Morcha of the party.

Poonam Mahajan, the daughter of late party leader Pramod Mahajan, has replaced Anurag Thakur as the Yuva Morcha head, who has been at the helm for close to six years. She is currently a Lok Sabha member from Mumbai North-Central. While Vinod Sonkar replaces Dushyant Kumar Gautam, Netam, Chauhan and Mast have replaced Faggan Singh Kulaste, S P Singh Baghel and Vijaypal Singh Tomar respectively.

While, 60-year old Mast is a third term MP who represents Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh in Lok Sabha, Chauhan joined BJP last year after leaving BSP.
