In a bid to woo young voters in the national capital, city BJP leaders are ready to ditch the tradition Kurta-Pyjama for “trendy outfits” in which they will canvass for the party.
BJP has asked its leaders and workers to wear stylish wardrobes in a bid to get the support of youth voters as this section plays important role in deciding fate of any political party in polls.
“We have been asked to wear stylish kurta and jeans to look young and get support of the youth in the upcoming elections”, said a senior BJP leader, who was also part of today’s meeting called to discuss the election campaign.
“BJP leaders and workers were also asked to draw inspiration from the wardrobes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After wearing stylish wardrobes, we should visit malls, cafes and colleges to woo young voters and inspire them to join the party,” he said.
“BJP has decided to continue its membership drive till January 15 nex year in the national capital,” he added.
A senior BJP leader said that the initial counts of online membership reveal that Delhi is very active and every district team should try to rope in one lakh members.
