BJP in Gujarat is scared of AAP, says Kejriwal after Anandiben Patel offers resignation

According to a post on her Facebook page, Patel has asked the BJP leadership to relieve her from the duty of being Gujarat CM.

In a surprise move, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has decided to resign from her position. Citing her age, the 75-year old minister says that she wishes to step down for te sake of her age and feels honoured that she was replace PM Narendra Modi in the state.

Soon after Patel announced her wish to step down, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to his Twitter handle saying that the reason for Patel’s resignation is the growing popularity of AAP in the state and the fact that BJP in Gujarat is deeply scared, hinting at the recent Dalit atrocities on the state for which the party was repeatedly targeted.

The AAP supremo went to say that her resignation denotes the triumph of AAP’s anti-corruption drive in Gujarat.

According to a post on her Facebook page, Patel has asked the BJP leadership to relieve her from the duty of being Gujarat CM. In the post she has also written that she will turn 75 in November, and a new leadership should look after the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and assembly elections of 2017.
