To be developed on a 8000-square-metre plot on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, the new BJP headquarters will have 70% green area with 70 rooms. While the main part will have three floors with rooms for BJP presents, leaders of both Houses in the Parliament and general secretaries of the party, the other part will have seven floors. According to IE, a new headquarter for the party was planned during former BJP president Nitin Gadkari’s tenure. However, the first two plans for the new office was rejected. The third plan prepared by a Mumbai-based architect has been approved .
Apart from offices for important leaders of the BJP organisation, the new office will have two conference halls, eight small halls with video-conferencing facilities to connect the headquarter with BJP’s state offices. Moreover, there will be a cafeteria serving cuisine from across the country. As per layout, all rooms of the new BJP headquarter will allow maximum entry of natural light and solar panels will be installed on the terrace. There will also be rain water harvesting facility, IE quoted a BJP leader as saying.
BJP is billed as the world’s largest political party with over 11 crore members.
