Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Friday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of creating a melodrama over declassification of Netaji files and said that the government must do what it wants without further ado.
Singhvi further asked why the BJP-led government took two years to declassify the files.
“If they want to declassify the files, why did they take two years? They just want to just play politics on it. Why are they creating so much melodrama on it,” he told ANI.
Singhvi also commented on the Hyderabad Dalit scholar’s suicide asserting that the culprits should be brought to book.
He also said that irrespective of whether Rohith Vemula was a dalit, the way he was treated was wrong.
He further said, “We shouldn’t defame the memory of dead person calling that he wasn’t a dalit.”
