Pick at least medium size thali to adjust each and everything. You can also purchase designers thalis or plates pre-decorated with ‘Rangoli’. Do not choose plastic plates. Necessary goods: New handkerchief to cover head because myth says, always cover head during worship. Vermillion or ‘roli’ for ‘tilak’, rice, water in pot, coconut, sweets, lamp or ‘diya’ and holy thread or ‘kalava’.
