It is nothing short of a miracle. A small girl was rescued from the rubble by firemen today, but her parents are reportedly dead in the building collapse. In the latest development on the Ejipura building collapse in Bengaluru, the Bengaluru Development Minister has decided to adopt the baby girl who lost her parent in the unfortunate incident. Kelachandra Joseph George, Minister for Bengaluru Development and Town Planning, told ANI, “Government will adopt the girl (whose parents died) who was rescued and will take care of all her expenses.” The minor girl was rescued from the debris but she lost both her parents in the building collapse incident. Bengaluru development minister KJ George also announced that a compensation of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the kin of the deceased, as per an ANI tweet. KC George was quoted in the ANI tweet, saying, “We will give a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.”

At least six people lost their lives when four houses collapsed partially in the Ejipura Area due to a cylinder blast, as per an ANI tweet. However, the Karnataka Home Minister has negated the assumption of cylinder blast behind the building collapse. He told ANI, “Cylinders on both ground & first floor had no gas in them so it is unlikely that the buildings collapsed due to blast.” Informing about the casualties, he further said, “Six people dead, out of which five people were residents of the building and one was a neighbour.” Many are still feared to be trapped under the debris.

As per a TOI report, the victims were identified as Sharavana, his eight-month-pregnant wife Ashwini, Kalavathi, Ravichandran, Hariprasad and Pavan Kalyan.
