Mega preparations are currently underway for the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s grand Diwali celebrations set to be held at Ayodhya’s Saryu ghat. Adityanath will visit the religiously significant district of Ayodhya on October 18. Doing everything possible to ensure fool-proof security, the district administration has cancelled fireworks display scheduled on Diwali eve and stepped up security as it prepares to welcome the Chief Minister. PTI reports that Faizabad SSP Subhash Singh Baghel is keeping himself busy round the clock arranging security system in town. “Ayodhya city is divided in three security zones, we are keeping the security of the red security zone where the disputed site of Ram Janambhoomi falls on the top priority in our security arrangements,” he was quoted as saying. Baghel said that security forces have been put on high alert.
As per a PTI report, about 20,000 security personals have been deployed at all the vital places, guarding the city round the clock. In special arrangements, police will provide fool-proof security to the procession of Lord Rama including at the halipad for the chopper (‘Pushpak Viman’) that will ferry Lord Rama to Ayodhya, PTI reports.
SSP Baghel further told PTI that about 2,000 Intelligence officials and police commandos and the same number armed with automatic weapons and electronic devices have been deployed all over Ayodhya. “The Babri site is already under the guard of paramilitary forces, we have also deployed rapid action force along with provincial armed constabulary in the second yellow security zone and civil police and home guards in third greed security zone,” Baghel was quoted as saying. Not only the land, the Faizabad police have also ensured teh security cordon covers river Saryu too.
