Attacks on Indians in US: Opposition rakes up issue in Parliament, Rajnath Singh promises action

The second leg of the Budget session which started on Thursday saw the oppositions outcry on the series of racial attacks in the United States.

The second leg of the Budget session which started on Thursday saw the oppositions outcry on the series of racial attacks in the United States. The Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge taking a dig at PM Modi said that he should release a statement over the attacks on Indians in the US. Kharge said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweets on almost every issues then what kept him from commenting on this one. TMC MP’s staged a protest over the attacks on Indians in US in front of the Gandhi statue at Parliament Complex.

After a series of attacks had taken place on Indians residing in the United States, Narendra Modi has neither voiced his concerns nor has he released any statement following the incidents. Congress and TMC alleged that the government has been incapable in providing security to the Indians residing abroad.

According to India Today reports TRS MP AP Jitendra Singh Reddy showed his concern regarding Donald trump’s statement which states that America is only for Americans. Recently the whole of Telangana mourned the death of Indian Techie in the US and was apprehensive about lakhs of Telegu speaking Indian residing in the U.S.

AIADMK’s M Thambi Durai said that India should address its concern and intervene in the matters of the US. According to India Today reports, Rajnath Singh calling the incidents unfortunate has said that that the matters will be discussed in details once the recuperating MEA returns.
The incidents which took place in the Parliament today comes after three racial attacks on the Indians residing in the US within a fortnight. The Sikh community in Washington DC had expressed concern after a Sikh man was shot in the arm and was screamed, ‘go back to your own country’
