Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday will announce the Delhi draft bill of statehood and it will be made public to seek opinion and suggestions from people.
The final draft will be tabled in the coming session of Delhi assembly and will be then sent to centre as the Statehood is subject to parliamentary approval.
The Parliament needs to amend the NCT act for Statehood to Delhi.
Earlier, the then Home Minister L K Advani had also tabled the Statehood Bill of Delhi in parliament as Statehood was a poll promise by all parties contesting in Delhi.
It will also open another gateway of confrontation between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and the Centre as there are already many crucial bills pending before the MHA that awaits clearance to inaction as law in the capital.
