An Al-Qaeda linked terrorist Raza Ul Ahmed was arrested from Delhi this morning, NDTV reported citing police. As per the report, Raza who is a member of Ansar Bangla – Bangladesh based terror outfit was involved in a fake currency racket in India. Bangladesh based Ansar Bangla has an affiliation with al-Qaeda. The arrest was made on Thursday morning and Raza was handed over to the West Bengal police, which had filed a case against him. The police also said that Ansar Bangla is becoming more active in the country and many of its terrorists have sneaked into the country using forged documents.

Last Sunday, another terrorist from Ansar Bangla who was identified as Abdullah was arrested by UP ATS. Back then, Abdullah too had admitted that several youngsters have illegally come to India on the pretext of pursuing studies and with the help of agents manage to get identification documents, a senior police official had told PTI. “During interrogation, Abdullah revealed that a number of youngsters from Bangladesh, on the pretext of pursuing studies, come to India illegally through Tripura, Assam and West Bengal. And then with the help of brokers or agents, they manage to make identification documents,” Inspector General of Police, (IGP), UP, ATS, Aseem Arun had said in a statement.

Abdullah had said that he entered India in 2011 through Tripura and also admitted giving Rs 9,000 to an agent in Saharanpur for preparing a passport. He was arrested on Sunday from the Muzaffarnagar district of UP and was brought to Lucknow on a transit remand. Abdullah was yesterday produced before the court of Special CJM Customs, Chavi Asthana, who sent him on five days of police remand, the ATS said.

Abdullah, the police have claimed, is associated with Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) and was involved in preparing fake identity proofs of terrorists, especially of Bangladesh and help them get safe hideouts in India. ABT is an Al Qaeda inspired Islamic extremist group in Bangladesh.
