AIADMK merger Live Updates: The crisis within the ruling party of Tamil Nadu seems to be heading towards an amicable resolution. Factions of TTV Dhinakaran, E Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam have been busy in chalking out strategies that will suit them the most. It has been learnt that E Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam factions are likely to join hands to keep TTV Dhinakaran out. So far, Panneerselvam camp has been demanding a CBI probe into the death of former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa as a precondition for merger talks. Meanwhile, Dhinakaran has also started making moves to re-assert his position in the AIADMK (Amma) camp. Dhinakaran, sidelined by a section of the AIADMK cabinet including Palaniswami, has appointed his loyalists to key party positions, according to reports. On the other, the Election Commission is looking into the Panneerselvam faction’s challenge to V K Sasikala’s appointment as AIADMK general secretary in December last.
