After ‘Kaam bolta hai’ fails, Samajwadi Party says, ‘Your cycle will always run in your name’

After facing defeat in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017, Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party coins new slogan to give the party a fresh new start. The new slogan of the party- ‘Aapki Cycle sadaa chalegi aapke naam se, fir pradesh ka dil jeetenge hum milkar apne kaam se(Your cycle will always run in your name, we will once again win the hearts of the people in the state with our work). The earlier slogan of the party ‘Kaam Bolta Hai’ failed to work in their favour and win the support of the people in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier in the year, on January 29, the mahagathbandhan of Samajwadi Party and Congress in Uttar Pradesh formally launched their alliance’s slogan ‘UP ko ye saath pasand hai’. Congress’s earlier slogan ’27 saal UP behaal’ was concealed by the party after coming together with the Samajwadi Party (SP) to form an alliance for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017. After the formation of the alliance, both the parties had agreed upon sharing seats where Congress was contesting on 105 seats and SP on 298 seats.

Earlier today the Ex Cm took a jibe at the new UP CM Yogi Adityanath by saying that he is glad that he got married before the anti-Romeo squad was formed. The anti-Romeo squad is a new initiative by CM Adityanath to control the eve-teasing cases in the state.

Samajwadi Party was reduced to just 47 seats in the UP Legislative Assembly as compared to the 224 seats in the 2012 elections that had made them victorious with a clear majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party rose to power in the state after 15 years in 2017 with 325 seats. Founded by Mulayam Singh Yadav in 1992, the party is now headed by former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
