Telugu actor Gus Krishna Reddy, also known as Samrat Reddy, was arrested by Hyderabad police today following a complaint of theft against him. The complaint filed by actor’s wife K Haritha Reddy (29) accused the Tollywood star of theft and house trespass. As per the complaint, the actor allegedly gatecrashed his wife’s house, damaged the CCTV camera and stole valuables worth Rs 2 lakh. It is worth mentioning here that the actor and his wife have been living separately following some marital dispute. The actor’s wife had lodged a complaint at the Madhapur police station on January 25. Notably, the duo got married in 2015 but they separated after the actor allegedly harassed his wife Haritha for dowry, as per media reports. Haritha had then claimed that the actor forced her to provide details of her properties and asked her to transfer them in his name.

The actor has been booked on the following three charges – Section 448 (Punishment for house trespass), 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) and 380 (Theft in dwelling house) of IPC, as per media reports. The complaint adds that Samrat’s sister was along with him during the whole act. “Harshitha was staying at Samrat’s flat based on the agreement they had after they got estranged. On January 13, when she went on a vacation, he and his sister came to the flat and took away CCTV cameras and other valuables…the case was booked at Madhapur police station on January 25, a day after the court granted Samrat anticipatory bail in the dowry harassment case,” Madhapur Inspector R Kalinga Rao was quoted as saying in media reports.

Soon after the arrest, the actor filed a bail petition in the court, which will come up for hearing on Wednesday.

The actor was last seen in the Telugu movie – ‘Kittu Unnadu Jagratha’. The actor’s claim to fame was her role in ‘Panchakshari’, alongside Baahubali actress Anushka Shetty, where he played her husband.
