
Haryana Power Department today said it has made adequate arrangements for power supply in the state to ensure hassle-free summer and paddy season.
The power department has made arrangements to supply electricity for 24 hours a day to the industries and urban domestic consumers, 14 hours to rural domestic consumers and eight hours to agricultural consumers, Spokesman, Haryana Power Utilities said.
In the months of June, July, August and September, the projected electricity requirement for average maximum peak demand would be about 8130 MW, 8612 MW, 8804 MW and 8929 MW respectively, he said, adding the department has made arrangements for 8961 MW, 10082 MW, 9842 MW and 9693 MW power for these months.

The spokesman said the discoms, during winters, had supplied power to Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Manipur and Chhattisgarh under banking arrangements and these states would return power to Haryana during the summer or paddy season as per the agreement.
