Actor Dileep finally gets bail after 86 days in connection with the case pertaining to the Malayalam actress attack case. However, the actor has been asked to surrender his passport, as per Manorama News report. He has also been directed to deposit Rs 1 lakh in court as surety as well as two other personal sureties. The court observed that now the investigation is progressing well.

In the case, both the prosecution and defense had completed their arguments on the fifth plea put forward by the actor last week. However, at the time, the Kerala High Court had reserved its orders.

Dileep’s four bail pleas had been rejected earlier – twice each in Angamaly magistrate court and the Kerala High Court. Each time, the prosecution had emphasized on their contention that if Dileep is granted bail, it would impact the investigation adversely. The actor’s counsel pointed out to the fact that there is no evidence to keep the actor in jail any further as the police have not been able to come up with anything concrete since Dileep’s arrest on July 10.

As per news reports, the police claim that it is actor Dileep who hatched the conspiracy to attack the Malayalam actress in a moving car. Six accused, including Pulsar Suni, the prime accused, have been arrested in this case.

Meanwhile, Dileep’s recently released movie ‘Ramaleela’ is running successfully across theaters in Kerala and outside the state. This is the first time in the history of Malayalam cinema that a movie of a leading actor has been released while he is in jail. When the ‘Ramaleela’ director Arun Gopi met the actor in jail and informed the good news, the actor reportedly broke down with emotion, according to Manorama News report and interview with the director Arun Gopi.

The actor, as per the Manorama News report, told Arun Gopi, ”God knows that I have done nothing wrong, this is why Ramaleela is doing well.”
