In another case of #LawlessUP, a woman was attacked with acid on Monday after he levelled rape charges against two men in Bulandshahr. Describing the horrifying event, the victim told reporters that the men tied her husband to a tree and threw acid on her face. She said that these men had raped her earlier and started harassing her later as she filed a complaint against them. This the second incident of rape and physical abuse that has come to the limelight in a matter of a couple of months from the district of Bulandshahr.
Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Police, Man Singh Chauhan said that the police has registered a complaint against the accused rapists and ensured full protection to the victim. He informed the media that an investigation related to the complaint was already underway. The victim’s husband said that the attack happened with the City Kotwali Police station area after they had refused to take back the case of rape filed against the attackers.
The 30-year old victim is currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital for burn injuries on her face and neck. It is reported that the rape had taken place on August 9 but the Police had only lodged a FIR on September 2 after being ordered by a local court. The victim alleged that the police did not believe their case initially and had accused the couple of levelling false allegations. The SP Man Singh Chauhan said that three of the accused had ben identified as Surjeet, Paramjeet and Veerpal, while the fourth was yet to be identified.
