May rebrand it as Fairfield by Marriott
UAE-based Lulu Group has bought over Abad Airport Hotel Kochi and will use the 54 room property to enter the mid scale hotel segment. Lulu is apparently in talks with Marriott to rebrand it as a Fairfield by Marriott hotel. Abad Airport Hotel Kochi is located on the road to Kochi International Airport.
Speaking to Food & Hospitality World, Riaz Ahmed, managing director, Abad Hotels & Resorts, informed, “The sale was in line with our future roadmap where we are consolidating. We have recently acquired a 40 room property in Munnar which is under renovation and will open in six months. This is apart from our existing 50 room property Silver Mist in the hillstation. In our Thekkady resort too we are adding 10 rooms to take the total room inventory to 50.”
The Abad group is also looking into acquiring serviced villa accommodations. “We have acquired one in Kovalam and are in talks to acquire another one in the eco sensitive area of Pathanamthitta and a third one near the Athirappilly Waterfalls,” revealed Ahmed.
