Aarushi murder case: Nupur Talwar released from jail on three weeks parole

nupur-LIn May 2008, 14-year old Aarushi and their domestic help Hemraj, 45 were found murdered at their residence in Noida. Following which, Nupur and Rajesh Talwar were convicted for the killing.

Nupur Talwar, mother of Aarushi was released from Dasna jail on Monday night after she was granted three weeks parole by Allahabad High Court last week. In July, Nupur had pleaded before the High Court for a parole as her ailing mother needs attention. Her release was ordered by a division bench comprising justices B K Narayana and A K Mishra. In May 2008, 14-year old Aarushi and their domestic help Hemraj, 45 were found murdered at their residence in Noida. Following which, Nupur and Rajesh Talwar were convicted for the killing.

The case is known to have taken many twist and turns. While Aarushi’s body was recovered initially, two days later Hemraj’s body was found on the terrace. The couple’s clinic assistants were also under scanner, however, no substantial evidence was found against them. The couple was sentenced to life imprisonment after the case was transferred from Noida Police to CBI.
